We Like Games Like Volcanoids
I Love survival games, I really enjoy games like Volcanoids. If you enjoy games similar to Volcanoids, then check out the following page. I list all the gameplay elements of Volcanoids and at the bottom of the page is a list of survival games with similar gameplay elements.

This game is in early access and I have very limited playtime, the information below is per my playtime, the developer/steam page or whatever else is available.

Game Engine
Volcanoids is being created with the Unity Engine.
Developer
the game is being developed by Volcanoid, a small team.
Survival Elements
Unfortunately Valconoids is yet another “survival” game that has absolutely no survival elements what-so-ever. There is not even eating and drinking. This game is much closer to an adventure game with building elements.
Base Building
The game features base building more on the unique side as your base is a moving tunneling machine.
Crafting
The game features a ton of crafting, in fact it appears you will need to craft almost everything, including repairing your “base machine”.
Looting
You will be looting dead enemies and mining for resources. I am not sure to what extent this changes, I have very limited playtime see summary.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Robots, Mechanized type creatures. No zombies here.
Characters and Leveling
There is no character creator, the game is played in first person mode.
Creature Taming and Mounts
There is no creature taming or mounts, you have a moving base.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
I don’t know if the weather has no impact on game-play, other than the volcano erupts every few minutes depending on your settings.
Game Modes
Single Player/Co-Op and Easy, Normal, after finishing the game, Hard and Custom modes also become available.
Map
The map is a hand crafted map.
Over Gameplay Difficulty
The game falls on the easier side of things.
Game Summary
Frustratingly, for me at least, this is yet another game that is labeled as a survival game that has zero survival elements, not even eating and drinking. The game might not be a bad game, but giving it labels that will draw a group of gamer’s and then not include those elements into a game is just wrong. If you are looking for an adventure style game that has a unique moving style base element, you might really enjoy this title, If you have any survival element requirements, this is a pass. I am going to NOT recommend this game on Steam, not because I think the game is good or bad but because I am tired of the developers mislabeling games.
