Survival Elements
This game has no survival elements except eating.
Base Building
You will maintain a moving base in the form of a ship, it does not have a static base at this time.
Crafting
You can craft many many items.
Looting
You will be looting lots of containers and gathering from nodes in the world as well.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Your enemies are animals and pirate npcs. You have entered a zombie free zone.
Characters and Leveling
There is no character creator, but there is a leveling system, more on the lines of role playing games.
Creature Taming and Mounts
There is no creature taming, but you will be traversing the world in various ships that you craft.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
The weather will at least impact ship travel to an extent. Currently it has no effect on your character.
Game Modes
Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme all effecting enemy health and damage.
Map
The map is a procedural generated “seed”. allowing for a unique map with every new game.
Over Gameplay Difficulty
On normal setting the game is not hard to play at all, it is pretty simplified, If you enjoy crafting over complicated combat mechanics, you may find it enjoyable.
Game Summary
In its current form Salt 2 is not a survival game, It is closer to a role playing pirate game where you get to do tons of crafting and exploration.
