I Love survival games, I really enjoy games like Native Hunter. If you enjoy games similar to Native Hunter, then check out the following page. I list all the gameplay elements of Native Hunter and at the bottom of the page is a list of survival games with similar gameplay elements.
This game is in early access and I have played it some, the information below is per my time in game, the developer/steam page or whatever else is available.
Native Hunter is being developed on Unreal Engine 5
The game is being made by a single indie developer.
Currently there is eating and drinking, along with cold. Currently the cold will kill you.
The game has custom base building. There is already a good amount of decorations to craft and place in your base.
Most items will need to be crafted. Some items are loot-able, but if you need it right now you will be crafting it from gathered materials.
There is a combination of gathering and looting. Early game you will be looking around for certain items. especially if they are made of metal.
Your main combat and enemy types are npc animals and “tribal” people. So effectively this is a Non-Zombie game.
The character creator is limited at this time, there is leveling of both stats and skills.
There is creature taming and mounts. The tames have uses other than looks.
The weather does impact gameplay. You can easily die if you are caught out in the cold.
Currently there is single player and Co-Op
The map is a hand crafted map, It has an option on which map to choose so it seems the developer plans on adding maps or allowing mods.
The game is not difficult to play. In a short time you will have a handle on survival, building, and crafting. The developer has a lot of planned features including island travel. (there is already a raft you can craft). Also planned are additional special tribes and underwater gameplay.
Game Summary
BUILDING, RESOURCE GATHERING AND CRAFT
There are several structures that you can manufacture to build houses, this ranges from foundations to paintings and decoration chairs, giving the player the possibility of creating large constructions where they bring comfort, or even a fortified base to defend against enemies that can find you anytime!
And for you to be able to build these structures, as well as many other items available in the game, you need to collect resources found in nature according to the need for each item.
With an advanced gathering and crafting system, more than 100 items are available for crafting at the start of Early Access, as well as advanced workbenches that provide crafting for advanced consumable items or refined equipment.
CULTIVATION AND DOMESTICATION
In addition to the wild animals found on the map, there is also the possibility of taming animals and thus making them able to reproduce. But for this to work it will be necessary to leave them fed and safe in your home, there are special structures such as fences and small doors to create these enclosures.
In order to feed these animals, you can plant and cultivate different vegetables, which can be consumed, suppressing your hunger and even giving you special effects for a short period of time. The mechanics have an advanced cultivation system, with the use of water and fertilizer during the maturation period.
SURVIVE
You are responsible for its survival, the character will feel the need to constantly feed and hydrate himself, so it is necessary for you to become a true hunter! Hunt, fish and build. You need to utilize every available means in nature to survive.
EXPLORE
The map has a huge space available for exploration, ranging from large islands with underground caves, to lost ruins at the bottom of the ocean. You are free to decide what to do and how much to do in this huge open world map, we are constantly working on developing this experience, so that it becomes even more attractive!
