Game Engine
Survival Elements
Food and Water need to be managed, Food can be out for a good while, maybe forever? When water hits 0 you start taking health damage. Currently not sure how heat and cold will effect the character if it all. This title is early access and will change in the future. You will also need to sleep.
Base Building
Very cool base building mechanic. Your base is on a train and you travel from spot to spot. You can stop anywhere along the way. There are tons of base building options.
Crafting
There is a lot of stuff to craft to ensure your survival. Crafting benches open up many new options.
Looting
Currently all items are acquired by looting. The developer has stated they want to include resource gathering in the future.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Well, if the name didn’t give it away, You will be dismembering the big Z’s.
Characters and Leveling
There is no character creator, but this is a first person title, so your character is never seen. There is a skill leveling system where you assign points on level up.
Creature Taming and Mounts
There is currently no creature taming or mounts, You do the train vehicle, which clearly needs tracks to run, so you will be on foot for the most part.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
Fog impacts your ability to see, but currently that was the only weather I experienced.
Game Modes
There is customization that would essentially allow for a peaceful mode, by setting zombies to 0% chance to spawn, but does not sport adjustable “modes”.

Zompiercer uses a handcrafted map.

The game is not overly difficult and is quiet fun even while in early development.

Take control of the train which will become your haven on the rails.
Construct a home on railway cars. Various workbenches, storage containers, dozens of decoration elements, and the possibility to place any inventory item on any surface, will allow you to unleash your creativity and build a cozy mobile house that will keep you safe from the dangers of the outer world.
Fight against a horde of various zombies. Each type of zombie has its own behavior, tactics, strengths, and weakness. Loot and craft different weapons to improve your survival capabilities.
Explore the story by traveling through the extensive and carefully handcrafted locations where each of which will require you to overcome some specific challenges.
