This game is in early access and I have played it some both in the original beta and now in early access. the information below is per the developer/steam page or whatever else is available.

Viking Frontiers is being developed by Blum Entertainment, which appears to be a small studio with several games in the works.
Society Survival Elements
I played the demo. There is no way to know how exactly the survival elements will be implimented in the future, currently I experienced the standard eat and drink or run out of HP’s and Die. I don’t see any requirement for the followers to eat and drink.
Base Building
The buildings are designed, and built in stages.
Crafting
You will need to craft various tools and supplies for yourself. I did not find any items ready to use.
Looting
Looting appears to be all gathering.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
The only enemy I came across was wildlife so far, I am very early into the demo, so other AI npc’s could be present now or further into development. This appears it will be a zombie free title.
Governance
Governance is not available in the demo, but it appears that it will be present in the game.
Land Management
There is a farming ability, but actual management is unknown at this time.
Characters and leveling
There is currently no character customization screen, the game is played in 1st person. There is a leveling system of sorts, with skills and buildings, but it is not clear how this will flesh out in future builds.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
I did not experience any weather impacts on gameplay.
Game Modes
There are no game modes at this time, or at least present in the demo.

The map is hand crafted.
Over Gameplay Difficulty
The current gameplay is very standard. the games feels like a very unpolished medieval dynasty. Of course it is just a demo, so there is no telling really where the developers will take the game in the end. Everything here is subject to change, and some of the elements are locked up. I could not tell if the demo is its own island, or how the actual game starts.
