Game Engine
Survival Elements
You do not need food and water to survive, instead, food gives you additional health, so you won’t die from not eating but your health will be very low. Water is not needed at all currently.
Base Building
Base building is free form, with tons and tons of different parts allowing you to make anything from a grass hut to a full blown castle.
Crafting
The crafting options are many, you will be crafting everything you need, recipes unlock by harvesting/gathering new ingredients.
Looting
There is some container looting and but most things will be gathered/harvested/hunted
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Rejoice, you zombie haters! Valheim is a creature based game. Animals and fantastic beasts, but no zombies.
Characters and Leveling
Valheim has a skill based leveling system. The more you do it, the better you get.
Creature Taming and Mounts
There is creature taming, and mounts.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
Valheim actually has a complicated weather system, but you will need to pay attention to it. The biggest thing you will notice about the weather is the wind direction and speed, as you will need it for sailing. There are other weather effects as well.

Valheim has no game modes.

Valheim uses a seed generations, which equals unlimited maps.

Valheim is a medium challenge game, you will need to have some combat skill to take down bigger creatures and boss mobs, but don’t be afraid to give them a try.
Game Summary
