Game Engine
The Infected is being developed on Unreal 4 Engine.
Developer
The game is being made by a single developer.
Survival Elements
Food and Water are a must, Your walk speed turns into crawl speed when these are low. You have to also maintain Proteins, Carbs, Fat, Vitamins.
Hot and Cold, also need to be addressed. Cold gives damage for sure.
There is also an injury/sickness system.
Base Building
You will need to build a base, and depending on your noise and light level you will get attacked.
Crafting
There is a decent amount of crafting, and some crafting stations.
Looting
You will need to loot and gather materials in order to craft.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
The main enemy is a “vambie”. To me they are more like a twisted vampire than a zombie. If you really hate zombies, these might be to close for you. Your gonna have to make the call on this one.
Characters and Leveling
There is no character creation and no leveling. The game is first person so looking at your character is quite useless anyway.
Creature Taming and Mounts
There is no taming, there is a husbandry system, which I did not experience yet. there are no mounts but there are vehicles.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
The weather impacts your ability to see and the hot and cold impact gameplay.
Game Modes
Modes include, Creative, God, Free Build, and “Server Settings”
The game is currently single player only.
Map
The map is handcrafted, and was just updated with update 14 on 4/28/23
Over Gameplay Difficulty
Overall I do not rate this very difficult with normal settings, I am sure you can make it a lot harder. The hardest part of early game is maintaining your food/water/macros.

The Infected is a PC game, where you play as a survivor of a viral outbreak that has ravaged the world. You must scavenge for supplies and craft weapons to defend yourself against the infected, who will stop at nothing to catch their next meal.
