Game Engine
The Forest is built with the Unity Engine. The game supports both single player and multiplayer support. The multiplayer is more of a co-op mode, one person starts the game as the host and others can join it. You can also rent a server or host your own dedicated server.
Survival Elements
The Forest is a hardcore survival game, It does everything it can to terrify you and kill you, either one can happen before the other.
Food, you will need to eat to stay alive in the Forest.
Water, is critical and most sources are contaminated, you will need to figure out how to make it clean.
Heat, is not normally a real problem, just stay out of your campfire and you will be fine.
Cold. there are areas where cold really takes a toll on your character, dress appropriately.
Diseases, you will need to manage poison, sickness and blood. Depending on your actions your sanity could be a problem as well.
Ignore any of the above items and you WILL die.
Base Building
The forest has base building and defending, you are in a …. /looksaround forest so there is only one building material. You can make blueprint buildings or freeform buildings.
Crafting
The forest has a good amount of crafting. You will constantly be making items to try and survive, tools, weapons, clothes, armor, and lots of miscellaneous items that I do not want to spoil here.
Looting
Loot, Loot, Loot If you like to loot containers, houses, etc. this game is right up your alley.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Your main enemy type’s are cannibals’ and mutants, some wildlife is also dangerous.
Characters and Leveling
You start as a male character, as this is a story based game. There is no leveling or points to assign but you do have statistics that effect your character based on how well you are eating and drinking and performing certain activities.
Creature Taming and Mounts
The Forest does not have creature taming, pets, or mounts.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
The game has weather effects but they do not have any real effect on gameplay.

VR, Normal, Hard, Hard Survival, Peaceful, Creative
Map
The Forest takes place on a hand crafted map.
Over Gameplay Difficulty
The first time you play The Forest it is downright brutal. I Died countless times before turning down the difficulty. Note: I much prefer to not watch videos on games I am interested in playing because they have to many spoilers and ruin the experience.
Game Summary
The Forest is a survival game that provides a thrilling and immersive experience. The game’s graphics are stunning, and the attention to detail in the game’s environment is impressive. The game’s mechanics are well thought out, and the crafting system is easy to learn but challenging to master.
The inclusion of a story mode adds depth and complexity to the game, and the game’s enemies are varied and challenging. The game’s horror elements add an extra layer of tension, and the game is not for the faint of heart.
The game does have a few drawbacks, however. Some players may find the game’s mechanics to be a bit tedious, and the game’s replayability may be limited once the story mode is completed. Additionally, the game can be frustrating at times, particularly when facing off against some of the more challenging enemies.
Overall, The Forest is an excellent survival game that provides a unique and immersive experience. If you’re a fan of survival games or horror games, then The Forest is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared to invest some time in learning the game’s mechanics and to face some tense and challenging situations.
