Survival Elements
I have not been able to identify all the survival elements, Food, Water, Clothing (warmth, armor, and wetness). You have to manage body temperature, There are also several strains of viruses.
Base Building
You will need to build a custom base, From what I can tell you use pre-designed structures.
Crafting
There are tons of things to craft.
Looting
You will be looting containers and buildings. Building give a fresh take as you don’t have to go container by container, once you enter a building, you don’t see the inside but hit inventory and it shows everything you discovered.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
The big Z, There are several strains of infection resulting in different zombies. Unique Combat where you must target the zombies head, midsection, or lower section.
Characters and Leveling
There is a very detailed character and leveling system.
Creature Taming and Mounts
The game just had vehicles introduced. There is no taming, or mounts however you will need to convince people to join your community.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
The weather will impact your characters temperature, which can lead to your death. There maybe other impacts as well.
Game Modes
Single and Multiplayer. There is a sandbox mode, which has a loose story. There is also community made modes, which includes things like easy start.

The game has very detailed map-able controls. Including Invert Y

Hours
Currently I have 8 hours in the game. I will have a lot more.
Over Gameplay Difficulty
In 8 hours I have basically just tried to learn how to survive. The Zombies are extremely difficult,They will dive on you, they are very fast, (some). The combat is unique that you can target the legs, mid section and head. Hitting them in the legs will slow them down. Making any noise at all attracts every zombie in their range, so it can result in a lot of zombies pretty fast. I still barely have any idea what I am doing, I have died many times, I am finding the game very fun, despite my massive failure rate.

You can target your enemies legs to slow them down, or try to hit their heads for greater damage.

You can sneak up on enemies and assassinate them, or just knock them out cold and steal their stuff.
