Survival Elements
Food and Water are a must, Just being hungry and not starving will start to have a negative effect on your character. Food consists of “vegies” and “Protien”, so there are 2 bars to maintain, along with water.
There are also injury and sickness mechanics as well.
You will also need to monitor temperature, both have negative effects on your character.
Base Building
Subsistence has free form base building. You will definitely want someplace to hold up for the winter.
Crafting
There is lot’s of crafting. You will have to make everything you use in this game, tools, clothes, weapons, everything.
Looting
Even though everything has to be crafted, you will still be looting crates, as many as you can find as often as you find them. You will also be gathering/harvesting materials A LOT.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Okay you non-zombie fans this is a game for you. There are two main threats in this game, animals and “hunters”.
Characters and Leveling
Subsistence lets you create both Male and Female Characters. There currently isn’t a leveling mechanic, but your skills will level bigtime trying to stay alive in this game.
Creature Taming and Mounts
There is animal taming of sorts and there is a 4 wheeler you can craft for a vehicle.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
The weather has a major impact on gameplay, This game has 4 seasons and all 4 affect what grows, and map access.
