Osiris New Dawn is built with the Unity Engine.
Survival Elements
Osiris does have many survival elements, These things can and will kill you but in normal story mode, you have plenty of time and warning to avoid most deaths.
Food and Water are needed, but not that hard to get.
Hot and cold need to be managed but it is relatively easy.
Other things that need to be managed include, Oxygen and weather.
Base Building
Osiris, has the standard base building options. There are not many choices on materials but that makes sense because you are in space. You can craft temporary shelters or major shelters, and eventually a space station.
Crafting
Osiris, has many crafting options, from stations to equipment , and everything you need to survive on a hostile planet.
Looting
Osiris does have some container style looting in story mode, But the vast amount of items will need to be crafted from all the materials gathered in the world.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Osiris main enemy types as you could likely guess are…. wait for it… alien type bugs and creatures.
Characters and Leveling
Osiris lets you create characters that are basically gender neutral. Not that it matters because you are in a space suit. There are several “class” choices that change various stats and there is character leveling that allows points to be put into skill trees.
Creature Taming and Mounts
Currently does not have any taming, but there are various vehicles.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
The weather does have an impact on gameplay, although in story mode it is not difficult to handle.

Story, Creative, and Challenge
Once those are selected you can choose from normal or easy.
Maps
Once in game under creative and challenge modes you can select one of 5 different planets (maps).
Over Gameplay Difficulty
In story mode there are options for standard and light. Standard is not that hard to manage, so light is probably just about nonexistent. You can customize your experience too, at least for survival modes. There are also several maps to choose from in survival mode, but whatever map you pick you are stuck with as there is no traveling between maps, which accounts for the majority of negative comments on steam.
