Full Release Title
Fear the Night was released on 07/17/2019, and has received little in the way of updates.
Fear the Night runs on the Unreal Engine
This is at least a small team developer, published by Snail Games.
Food and water, along with heat and cold and a very unique infection mechanic.
There is at least base defense, where you take over an already built structure.
There is plenty of crafting of items, clothes, weapons, benches etc.
You will need to loot loot loot. Did I mention Loot? Standard “container” type looting and resource gathering takes place here.
I’m not telling you, You will just have to try it for yourself to see the Zombies.
There is character leveling, you will put points into 2 different stat areas, and you will also unlock new crafting recipes while leveling.
Currently as of level 10 there are no mounts or taming.
I have not experience any weather impacts at the early part of the game( first 10 or so levels).
This is a server based game and even in single player a server will launch on your computer you will connect to.
This is a handcrafted map.
I wouldn’t label this game as overly difficult, however it is super easy to die, Zombies hit hard and actually have levels themselves.
Fear the Night was a surprise, At the time of this writing I had played only 14 hours, But I had found the game during a Steam sale for 5.00 so it has already been worth it, and I will continue to play. This developer has a very poor track record with finishing games, but I have found very very few issues thus far. The combat feels good, You feel like your in danger, nights feel extra bad. I think it would be even more fun with friends.
Day-Night Cycle: Scavenge as many resources as you can during daytime to prepare for nightfall, when zombies become more aggressive and perceptive. Take shelter and avoid being caught out in the open when it gets dark.
Reclaim Occupied Facilities, Destroy Zombie Caves, and Restore Order: Many facilities from before the apocalypse remain in good working order, and must be reoccupied to access unique resources. A vast network of caves also exists, and strategically sealing them off from zombies can ensure that an occupied territory is a safer place to carve out a living.
Zombie Awareness: Zombies target their prey in a variety of ways. Beyond mere sight they also use advanced hearing and smell to help them find you when you’re hiding. To survive, you will need to know how to remain undetected.
Hack Robot Companions: Before humanity was nearly wiped out, they developed autonomous robotic defenses to combat the threat of the undead. They continue to carry out their job, except they are exterminating zombie and survivor alike. Find out how to hack into their systems, and they will aid you in survival. Mostly by not killing you.

The following games have these gameplay features. Although most survival games have all these elements and more, you should find that overall you would be playing very similar mechanics but with different graphical assets.
