Game Engine
Survival Elements
There are several survival elements, and this leans toward realistic survival mechanics. You will have to maintain food, keeping track of 5 different stats. Water is also a decent challenge to overcome. Along with those you need to sleep and manage heat, cold, and wetness.
Base Building
Yes there is base building with a decent selection of options. You can also build somewhat of a “boat” base.
Crafting
There are lots of crafting to do, you will HAVE to craft if you want to live.
Looting
There is also looting, various kinds of wrecks and containers.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Unknown, I have played for 19 hours and I haven’t made it more than 1 island over, A lot of this was due to experimenting and learning how to survive, but currently I have not experienced any enemies.
Characters and Leveling
There are male characters currently but female is planned. There are also skills that level up generally making your character more efficient.
Creature Taming and Mounts
There is no creature taming currently and mounts are limited to boat type vehicles you can craft.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
The weather already impacts gameplay, it can make survival more difficult or easier depending on your circumstances.

Sandbox, and Story mode in the works, with Survival, Creative mode in the works, Difficulties Easy, Medium, Realistic
Map
Escape the Pacific uses seed generated maps, which is unlimited map generation.
Over Gameplay Difficulty
Overall the game is more along the lines of Green Hell difficulty than stranded deep. You do have to manage quite a few things and it is fairly easy to die. I died from eating a properly prepared fish so yea.
Game Summary
