Survival Elements
There are Diseases, Hot, Cold, Food, Water, that all have to be monitored frequently.
Base Building
Ark has custom base building, with multiple materials, the building is different then ark survival evolved, there are more pieces and placeable in more positions giving a wider variety to custom looking homes. All the textures are different as well.
Crafting
Ark is king of crafting, you will be crafting everything all the time. Tools, Food, Dyes, Weapons, Workbenches, Clothes, Everything.
Looting
You will be gathering the majority of materials to make items yourself. There is some looting in drops.
Combat, Main Enemy Types
Big beautiful teethy dinosaurs, Small beautiful teethy dinosaurs. medium beautiful teethy dinosaurs. hmm also pretty much everything in between. On multiplayer yep other players.
Characters and Leveling
There is a very very good character creator, changing muscles, fat, limb length all kinds of things.
Creature Taming and Mounts
Well Duh. ummm YEP! Can i get an AMEN? If you are not taming you are doing it wrong.
Weather Impacts on Gameplay
The only weather impact is when you are looking up at a beautiful storm, sunrise, sunset, whatever, and run into a dino or over a cliff. Actually, cloudy and stormy days make the deep jungle much darker and more dangerous. and bright areas make it hard to see as well, But so far they don’t cause adverse character effects.

I currently only have 12 hours in Ark Survival Ascended.
Over Gameplay Difficulty
Well, did I mention big teethy dinosaurs? You can make the game as easy or difficult as you want. Ark is built on as a server based game, so you can raise and lower difficulty levels on everything.

ARK: Survival Ascended has completely recreated and redesigned the artwork and worlds of ARK to take advantage of the latest in videogame technology, Unreal Engine 5, using high-end graphics features such as fully dynamic Global Illumination (“Lumen”), so that light bounces realistically of off surfaces and provides realistic reflections, and advanced mesh streaming (“Nanite”) of hundreds of millions of triangles for extreme detail.
Advanced new physics systems such as dynamic water so that every creature creates waves, ripples, splashes, and bubbles as they move through fluids, and fully interactive physical foliage where every blade of grass, bush, and tree reacts to characters, explosions, projectiles, and physics objects. Knock down a tree, and see it crash into other trees and disturb all the foliage on its way down to smacking into the grass below! Detect an enemy moving sneakily through the grass as it shifts and sways in response to their presence. Demolish a building and watch the pieces break apart realistically, interacting with the grass and water as they fall.
